We have created this odyssey for those who wish the experience of a complete kayak expedition, seeing many of the interesting sites of the archipelago, without having to cover long distances each day.
This trip was designed so that the distances covered each day could suit all paddlers. This expedition is for those with or without experience who, after all, are on vacation.
The departure is done from the beautiful Romaine delta. We will head towards La Grosse Romaine island and then cross over to the Barachois à Montpetit campsite on La Grande Île.
After lunch, the group will paddle along the shores several kilometers to discover the Zoo, a site where limestone formations take animal shapes.
Finally, it is near the end of the afternoon that we will arrive at are campsite, Havre à Petit-Henri, for our first night on the islands.
From the Havre à Petit-Henri campsite, we will head to Le Château, one of the most beautiful monolith sites of the archipelago.
We will eat lunch and roam around this breathtaking site before heading back to the Havre à Petit-Henri campsite.
From the Havre à Petit-Henri campsite, we will then visit Anse des Érosions, an exceptional site on Île Quarry. Those who wish to visit the monoliths by foot can also do so by going directly to the campsite.
After having visited the site for a while, we will then let ourselves be tempted by a delicious lunch at the site, and we will head towards the Quarry campsite passing by Le Petit Percé and La Pile on the east side of the island.
The supper will be served early to give everyone a chance to have a walk on the island’s paths and admire the sunset among the monoliths.
From Quarry Bay, we will head towards Anse du Noroit on Niapiskau island to observe the Black Guillemots nesting.
We will then begin our cross over to the Romaine bay where we left from. At Auberge de la Minganie, we will have the chance to relax, have a hot soup and even take a shower. An esquimautage initiation will be offered to those who desire.
Itineraries are subject to change due to weather conditions and to the availability of campsites.
